“Everything's a wheel, turning and turning, never stopping. The frogs is part of it, and the bugs, and the fish, and the wood thrush, too. And people. But never the same ones. Always coming in new, always growing and changing, and always moving on. That's the way it's supposed to be. That's the way it is.”

Synopsis

Blessed with—or doomed to—eternal life after drinking from a magic spring, the Tuck family wanders about trying to live as inconspicuously and comfortably as they can. When ten-year-old Winnie Foster stumbles on their secret, the Tucks take her home and explain why living forever at one age is less of a blessing than it might seem. Complications arise when Winnie is followed by a stranger who wants to market the spring water for a fortune. A brand-new introduction from Gregory Maguire, the author of Wicked, and additional bonus materials make this special edition of Natalie Babbitt’s Tuck Everlasting a must-have for lovers of the book and a great way to introduce a new generation to a classic.

Review

This is that book that started it all for me. My love of reading was born here–some twenty years ago.

I decided to pick this up for nostalgic value and curiosity since this one haunted me since I read it with my sixth-grade classmates.

Twenty years later, as an adult, this story did not disappoint. It’s a page-turner, heartwarming, and a thought-inspiring tale of what it means to live a life.

Best,

Ashley
