“I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”

Synopsis

One of the books that ‘everybody should read’, this was named the ‘2nd greatest novel of the 20th century’ by the Modern Library and it has now been filmed six times, including the latest version directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Review

The poetic prose is just what I needed after a long run of Young Adult, Fantasy, and Sci-fi.

This one is quite old, and it’s like stepping back in time. The characters are all bizarre; The way they talk and act is just odd. You have likable characters and those who you want to punch in the face. Some of the characters are so very obnoxious that you just want to jump into the pages and smack some sense into them.

There’s not much more I can say about this one. It’s worth reading if you’ve got the time. The prose alone is lovely enough to keep you hooked.

Best,

Ashley
